A New Way to Look at Home Care -- Service Packages

Most home care providers describe their services in terms that don't clearly communicate what the caregivers actually do for their clients -- terms such as "home health care," "personal care services," "respite care," or "Alzheimer's/dementia care."

At Living Innovations, we start by taking stock of what each client needs. Does Mary need help with bathing and dressing? Does Tom need companionship and time outdoors? Does Andrea need time off from round the clock caregiving to attend to her own health? Does Bill need someone to cook for him and make sure he gets the nourishment he needs? Does Ed need a driver to take him shopping and to doctor's appointments?

Because no two clients' needs and personalities are the same, we create a unique "package" of services for each individual. And most important of all, we match each client with a caring and compatible caregiver -- because the quality of support we offer has everything to do with that one-on-one relationship.

Here are some examples of how we might help:

Breakfast & Bath
We'll help your loved one with her morning routine -- getting breakfast, taking a shower, picking up the house -- daily or several times a week.

Meals & Wheels
Going shopping is tough when you can no longer drive or push a shopping cart. We'll give your loved one the mobility he needs to stay independent -- and the assistance he needs to prepare nutritious meals.

What's For Dinner
Our staff can assist an elderly or disabled person to order from a unique meal planning and preparation service, which we have reviewed and given our Living Innovations Seal of Approval. The meals are delicious, nutritious and a real convenience. Visit whatsfordinnernh.com for more information.

Support in Assisted Living and Nursing Facilities
Often we get calls from family members about a loved one living in a care facility, for whom they would like extra support. Our supplemental care in nursing homes, retirement centers and assisted living may be short-term, such as personal care after a hospitalization, or an enhancement for the long-term for care and companionship. We also provide individualized transportation and companion services to help a loved one get out in the community more often.

Remember and Remind
Persons with dementia need someone to help them keep up with their routines and keep track of their medications. They also welcome the opportunity to share their old memories -- the ones that never fade away.

Share and Care
Loneliness and isolation pose a genuine threat to many seniors' health and wellbeing. Cheerful, loving companionship can keep your loved one's mind active and their spirits high.

Assist and Protect
A simple fall can rob a frail senior of her mobility -- and her independence. An in-home companion can help her stay safe in the comfort of her own home.

R & R
Caring for a frail family member is a wonderfully rewarding but demanding role. We give family caregivers and their loved ones a break from each other for a few hours or days -- a chance to refresh and recharge or to fulfill other obligations.

At Living Innovations, we'll put together a package of services that fits your family's situation.
