Personal and Community Support

Living Innovations does whatever it takes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help individuals have lives of quality at home and in the community. We know that the people we serve and those closest to them have clear ideas about the support they need and want.

Some people desire in-home staffing for assistance and training with a variety of activities of daily living, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, laundering clothing and the like. These supports are provided within a natural family and to individuals living in their own apartments or homes.

Many want opportunities and help to access their communities in a myriad of ways. We provide transportation, training and support with shopping, banking and money management, keeping appointments, going to church and developing leisure and fitness interests and skills.

Work or community service is the priority for some of the people we serve. We have skilled job developers, coaches and community integration specialists who assist individuals to be productive and contributing members of their communities.

Often a combination of home and community activities is in the person's interest.

Living Innovations customizes staffing to meet the needs of one person at a time. We engage individuals, guardians, and others to create a unique plan for independence and community involvement. Very often we serve individuals who are living with their parents. We are flexible with regard to the times and places of service, and importantly, to matching staff to the individuals we support.

All of our staff are trained as to our family-centered approach and our policy on incidental support, which states that in the course of serving an indentified individual staff are expected to actively to seek out additional opportunities to assist and support the family.
