Career Development
and Training Service

Living Innovations assists people with disabilities and the elderly to live as independently as possible. For many of the people we serve independence means holding a job, paying bills, and saving for vacation or a rainy day.

Career Development is one of the many services we offer individuals and in turn employers in their communities. The steps in career development are designed to be mutually beneficial to the individual seeking employment and employers.

  • Individual Inventory: Our professional Employment Representatives complete a comprehensive inventory of the job seeker's work history, education, strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This information is analyzed and becomes the basis for Job Development.

  • Job Development: The job seeker and his/her representative contact all prospective employers to arrange interviews and find appropriate jobs. Employers and job seekers alike are assisted to ensure that there is a good job match.

  • Partnership for Success: Once the employer has hired the person, Living Innovations works with the parties through on- and off-the-job support. The Employment Representative is available to assist in orienting the person to the work place and job; provide on-the-job training; and to help resolve any problem that might occur during the introductory period.

Employers throughout the country have seen that hiring people with abilities, despite their age or disabilities, is mutually beneficial. We look forward to working with you to fill job openings with eager and competent employees.
