Personal Care Support Provider
Job Summary
The PCSP provides services to people who are elderly, or who have disabilities or long-term illnesses, and their families. This support may be offered in the home or in the community, under the direction of the Living Innovations Home Care Director of Client Services. Services include, but are not limited to, basic personal care, dietary management, companionship and homemaking services that are essential to the clients health and well being.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid drivers license with driving record in good standing
- Good communication skills with the ability to speak to clients in their native language
- Dependability and flexibility with scheduling
- Absence of a criminal record
- Successful completion of the required training program at Living Innovations or documented proof of successful completion of a similar training program.
- Use of an automobile with adequate liability insurance ($100,000/$300,000)
- Neat appearance, dependable, responsible, and good personal hygiene
Responsibilities:
- Basic personal care and grooming
- Transfer assistance
- Mobility assistance
- Assistance with toileting and toileting hygiene measures
- Assistance with personal appliances
- Assistance with nutrition, hydration and meal preparation
- Essential homemaker service
- Bath/shower
- Oral hygiene
- Care of hair
- Ordinary care of nails
- Routine skin care
- Positioning and turning of clients
- Dressing
- Shaving with electric razor
Organizational Relationship:
The Personal Care Support Provider reports directly to the LIHC Clinical Director.
Functional Abilities:
- Able to lift, turn and transfer clients
- Able to carry bundles up a flight of stairs
- Able to stoop and bend
- Has reliable transportation
- Able to read, write and speak in a manner understood by most persons
