Registered Nurse (Per diem)

The per-diem Registered Nurse is an hourly position reporting directly to the Director of Client Services.

Responsibilities:

• Assess client strengths, weaknesses, needs and service requests, according to policy. After initial evaluation, reevaluate nursing needs at regular intervals.
  
  
• Develop Plan of Care for client; evaluate and revise as necessary.
  
  
• Coordinate Plan of Care with the client doctor and get doctor’s orders in a timely fashion. Coordinate any necessary services. Inform doctor and other personnel of changes in client condition, as they occur.
  
  
• Assist in the orientation of the staff as to their roles and responsibilities and to the policies and procedures of Living Innvoations.
  
  
• Supervise, teach, assist and direct the staff, according to policy and procedures.
  
  
• Evaluate nursing assistants, home health aides, homemakers, companions and personal care service providers according to policy.
  
  
• Supervise and maintain clinical records for each client assigned.
  
  
• Follow the standards of the Nurse Practice Act.
  
  
• Provide services requiring any substantial and specialized nursing skills, as assigned.
  
  
• Initiate appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures, as assigned.
  
  
• Prepare clinical and progress notes.
  
  
• Counsel/teach the patient/client, family and/or primary caregiver in meeting nursing and related needs, or in self-care techniques.
